But Rebecca knew the deeper victory was quieter.
It was Miles leading without fear.
It was engineers speaking in meetings without Garrett stealing their sentences.
It was a board that learned misconduct was not a private matter when it threatened everyone’s work.
It was Rebecca understanding that funding something silently did not mean disappearing inside it.
It was learning that a slap in public can end more than a marriage.
It can end a lie.
And it was Rebecca, years later, walking into the company’s new opening party at a smaller venue with brighter windows, fewer chandeliers, and no champagne tower.
A young founder approached her nervously.
“Ms. Hunter, can I ask how you knew when to take control?”
