Chapter 1 - The Blue Flame

The modern, open-concept living room of the sprawling suburban estate was designed to look like a magazine cover. It featured expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, minimalist furniture, and a pristine, dark walnut wooden floor. But on this specific, terrifying evening, the flawless floor was completely covered in thousands of jagged, razor-sharp shards of shattered white porcelain.
Standing amidst the wreckage was the father, Marcus. He was a man in his late thirties, wearing a tailored dark suit jacket and a crisp white shirt. His handsome face was twisted into a mask of cold, ruthless, and absolute cruelty.
He furiously stepped forward, his expensive leather shoes violently kicking the white porcelain shards across the floor, the harsh scraping sound echoing off the high ceilings. In his right hand, he held a heavy, metal handheld gas torch—the kind used for caramelizing desserts in high-end kitchens, or soldering copper pipes.
With a sharp, metallic click, Marcus ignited the torch. A thick, concentrated blue flame roared to life, emitting a terrifying, high-pitched hiss that filled the entire room.
On the floor, desperately backing away from the roaring fire, was his eight-year-old daughter, Mia. The little girl with short dark hair wore a simple white t-shirt and dark pants. Her delicate left arm already bore stark, angry red marks from the intense, radiating heat. She scrambled backward, her hands sliding over the dangerous porcelain shards, crying in absolute, extreme panic.
Standing nearby, watching the horrific abuse unfold, was a young, elegant woman wearing a tight red cocktail dress. This was Chloe, Marcus's mistress. She didn't look horrified. She looked entirely amused.
