Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Justice

Before Adrien's hand even touched the grip of his weapon, two massive enforcers rushed the stage. They violently tackled him to the hardwood floor, pinning his arms behind his back.
"No! It's a lie!" Adrien wailed hysterically, completely stripped of his power, his pride, and his fake corporate elegance. "She faked the ledgers! Carlo, I am your son!"
"You are nothing to me," Carlo stated coldly, looking down at the pathetic, weeping man.
Carlo turned to the silent, terrified crowd. "Adrien Valente is entirely stripped of his name, his assets, and his protection. Everything he legally owns is hereby transferred directly to Clare as restitution. Take him to the warehouse."
Adrien screamed in apocalyptic terror as the enforcers aggressively dragged him out the back doors. Handing him over to the syndicate's warehouse meant he was going to face a slow, agonizing brand of underworld justice.
Vanessa dropped to her knees, sobbing wildly, begging for mercy. Carlo didn't even look at her. The guards snatched the sapphire bracelet off her wrist and threw her out into the freezing street with absolutely nothing.
Clare took the sapphire bracelet from the enforcer. She didn't put it on. She dropped it into her purse, closing it with a definitive, satisfying snap.
She slowly stood up from her wheelchair, her legs shaking slightly, but her spirit completely unbreakable. She had survived a monster, aligned with the devil, and walked away with the entire empire.

If you were Clare, would you have handed Adrien over to the police, or was letting the mafia deal with him the absolute perfect revenge?
