Chapter 1 - The Armed Intruder

The sprawling, ultra-modern luxury mansion was dead silent, illuminated only by the pale moonlight filtering through the towering floor-to-ceiling windows. But the tension in the shadows was thick, lethal, and suffocating.

Ethan, a thirty-something handsome man with short dark hair, wearing a navy blue suit jacket, an unbuttoned white shirt, and a dark belt, secretly sneaked into his own mansion through the darkened side hallway. His face was stark tight with a dangerous, paranoid suspicion. Every muscle in his muscular frame was coiled like a spring.

Without making a single sound, Ethan reached his right hand deep inside his navy suit coat. His fingers wrapped tightly around the cold, heavy steel grip of a hidden handgun. He pulled the weapon free, keeping it concealed against his leg as he silently, stealthily approached the grand kitchen.

For weeks, an anonymous, highly toxic whisper campaign had poisoned his mind. A shadowy rival syndicate had sent him encrypted messages, leaked documents, and manipulated photographs claiming that Clara, the family’s devoted thirty-something housekeeper with her hair tied back in a neat black-and-white maid uniform, was actually an undercover corporate assassin planted inside his home to eliminate his family.

Consumed by blinding paranoia and desperate to protect his children, Ethan had rushed home in the middle of the night, fully prepared to execute the woman he believed was about to murder his family.
