Chapter 8 - The Next Woman Did Not Have to Wait

And it was Naomi, years later, sitting beside a young woman on another flight.

A teenager behind them kept bumping the seat.

The young woman beside Naomi stiffened but said nothing.

Naomi turned gently.

“You can ask,” she said.

The woman looked embarrassed.

“It’s not a big deal.”

Naomi touched the aisle armrest.

“That’s what people count on.”

The young woman took a breath, turned around, and said politely, “Please stop kicking my seat.”

The teenager stopped.

His mother apologized.

No scene.

No slap.

No door latch.

Naomi leaned back and looked out the window as the plane lifted into clear morning light.
