The wet Napa driveway.
The black SUV.
Hannah in the cream-white dress, heel sinking into mud.
Callum pulling away with the blue legal folder.
Sign it, Hannah. I don’t have time for drama.
Marissa laughing near the open car door.
If she gets in like that, she’ll ruin the leather.
Hannah falling face-down into the mud.
Callum walking away.
A woman in the mud doesn’t belong in the car of a man buying an empire.
Then Hannah lifting her face.
Twisting off the wedding ring.
Go. You’re already late.
The side gate opening.
Mr. Doyle rushing out.
