Chapter 12 - Sabine Made Keaton Earn A Second Wedding Decision

Sabine remained separated from Keaton for almost a year.
That surprised him.
He assumed apologizing would restart the marriage.
Sabine told him:
“You apologized because you were caught by consequences. I need to see who you are when consequences stop watching.”
So she waited.
Keaton started individual therapy.
Voluntarily reduced unnecessary legal contact with Marissa.
Paid the ordered fees without trying to hide assets or delay payment.
Stopped using his wealth as leverage in scheduling discussions.
He also sold the extravagant lake house he had originally intended as a second family residence and used part of the proceeds to clear remaining joint financial disputes.
Not because Sabine demanded it.
Because his therapist asked:
“What does repair look like when money has been your weapon?”
Eventually Sabine agreed to couples counseling.
Months later, they decided to remain married.
No second giant ceremony.
No public vow renewal.
Just a private decision after a long period of changed behavior.
Delaney did not call Sabine Mom.
Sabine never asked her to.
That helped.
She entered Delaney’s life carefully.
Not as replacement.

Not as proof Keaton had moved on.
Just another adult who had finally learned enough to stop participating in a false story.
