“Maybe you should just take full custody.”
As though custody were:
a gym membership
he could cancel.

him.
Parental rights and obligations do not disappear because:
one parent is angry,
another child is coming,
or the family dynamic changes.
Our final judgment established:
shared legal custody,
primary residential custody with me because of the move and school arrangements,
defined parenting time with Preston,
child support calculated according to:
income,
parenting schedule,
state guidelines,
other relevant factors.
His wealth did not buy:
perfect access.
My anger did not erase:
his parental status.
The girls’ therapist documented concerns about:
gender-based rejection

emotionally harmful comments.
That influenced:
how transitions and therapy were handled.
Not permanent exile.
Over the next two years, Preston became:
more consistent.
Not transformed overnight.
He missed one weekend for work.
