Chapter 10 - The Financial Guillotine

"Boss! What the hell is she doing here?!" Victor shrieked loudly, his voice echoing frantically across the silent ballroom, immediately drawing the attention of every single, highly dangerous syndicate boss in the room. "She is a thief! She is a fired, psychotic maid! Security, get her out of here right now!"
Roman didn't flinch. He didn't even bother to look at the panicking, pathetic manager.
Roman calmly, silently raised two fingers in the air.
Instantly, the massive, state-of-the-art projector screens surrounding the luxurious ballroom flashed to life. Instead of ambient, elegant gala visuals, the massive screens displayed high-definition, undeniable, and completely devastating financial ledgers.
The secret offshore bank accounts. The massive wired funds. The forged corporate signatures.
Every single illegal transaction proving that Victor had stolen twelve million dollars from the syndicate was broadcast in stunning 4K resolution for the entire criminal underworld to see. The cinematic realism of the absolute, crushing betrayal paralyzed the wealthy guests. In their violent, unforgiving world, stealing from the Boss was an unforgivable, immediate, and highly public death sentence.
"That... that's fake!" Victor wailed hysterically, physically staggering backward as the cartel bosses in the crowd turned to glare at him with pure, unfiltered, homicidal disgust. "She forged that! She is a liar! She framed me!"
"She is Tessa Falcone," Roman announced, his deep voice booming with absolute, terrifying, and unquestionable authority. "Daughter of the loyal man you brutally murdered. And she is under my absolute, unconditional protection."
Victor dropped to his knees on the pristine white marble floor, completely abandoning his sophisticated, elite persona. His expensive tuxedo crumpled awkwardly around him as he wept in sheer, apocalyptic terror.
"Please, Roman!" Victor begged, crawling pathetically toward the billionaire. "I'll give it all back! Have mercy! I'm sorry!"
"You fired her yesterday," Roman whispered coldly, staring down at the weeping traitor. "Today, she owns you. Grant, get him out of my sight."
The massive bald enforcer grabbed Victor by the collar and violently hauled him away, dragging the screaming, humiliated manager out the back doors to face a slow, agonizing brand of underworld justice. The toxic parasite was permanently erased from the empire.
Roman turned his intense, pale eyes back to Tessa. The cold, terrifying billionaire completely softened, looking at the beautiful woman in the emerald gown with profound, simmering passion and deep, undeniable respect. She hadn't shrunk in his presence; she had stood tall and helped him secure his throne.
"Your father's territory is officially restored to you," Roman said softly, handing her a crystal glass of champagne. "You aren't a maid anymore, Tessa. You are an absolute equal."

Tessa smiled brilliantly, knowing she had survived a monster, aligned with the devil, and reclaimed her family's entire legacy in a single night.
If you were Tessa, would you have warned Victor about the projector screens, or was exposing him in front of the entire mafia the absolute perfect revenge?
