Chapter 6 - The Unlikely Savior

Just as Victor prepared to pull the trigger and end Tessa's life, a massive, heavily armored black luxury SUV aggressively turned into the dark, narrow alleyway. Its blinding, high-beam LED headlights flooded the damp brick walls, entirely illuminating the brutal, cowardly ambush taking place on the wet pavement.
The heavy, military-grade tires screeched to a violent halt right behind Victor, completely trapping him in the corridor.
The reinforced rear door of the SUV swung open with a heavy thud. Stepping out into the freezing night air was Roman Thorne. He had put his tailored, expensive dark suit jacket on over his black unbuttoned shirt, but the sheer, crushing aura of an untouchable, lethal apex predator radiated from him instantly. He didn't look like a businessman; he looked like the Angel of Death.
Following closely behind him was Grant, the massive, bald, menacing enforcer, who already had his high-caliber weapon drawn and aimed with absolute, robotic precision.
"Is there a problem out here, Victor?" Roman asked. His deep voice was incredibly smooth, dangerously quiet, and absolutely terrifying. It cut through the cold air like a razor blade.
Victor physically staggered backward, his eyes widening in sheer, apocalyptic terror. He immediately lowered his suppressed weapon, frantically trying to hide the heavy gun behind his back like a child caught stealing. The blood violently drained from his sweating face, leaving him looking like a terrified ghost.
"Boss!" Victor stammered, his voice cracking into a high-pitched, pathetic, desperate squeal. "No problem at all! Everything is under control! This waitress... she stole cash from the main register. My men were just teaching her a lesson before we called the cops."
Roman didn't even look at Victor. His pale, cold, incredibly calculating eyes locked directly onto Tessa.
She was sitting on the wet, freezing pavement in her torn, humiliating brown uniform, slowly wiping a thin trail of dark blood from her split lip. She wasn't crying. She wasn't begging for help. She looked up at the billionaire mafia boss with the fierce, unbroken, burning pride of an absolute warrior.
"Grant," Roman commanded softly, not breaking eye contact with the beautiful woman on the ground.

Grant moved with blinding, effortless, terrifying violence. In less than three seconds, the massive enforcer raised his weapon and fired two suppressed shots, dropping Victor’s armed guards instantly to the wet pavement. He stepped forward and violently disarmed Victor, shoving the panicking, weeping manager aggressively against the cold brick wall.
👉 Roman slowly approached the bruised waitress, preparing to demand the absolute, undeniable truth about her identity.
