Chapter 9 - The Father's Surrender

The chaotic, toxic energy was forcefully dragged out of the main dining room. The heavy silence returned, but this time, it was filled with profound, absolute justice and healing.

Dominic slowly turned his towering frame back to Sophie.

The beautiful waitress was still kneeling on the hardwood floor beside the luxury stroller. She had carefully unbuttoned the harsh synthetic outfit, holding little Leo's bare hand, weeping tears of pure, overwhelming joy as she stared at the beautiful baby she thought she had lost forever.

Dominic stepped closer, stopping just inches away from her. The cold, terrifying, untouchable mafia boss completely vanished. He looked down at the beautiful brunette with profound, simmering emotion and deep, undeniable respect.

He slowly dropped to his knees, completely ruining his expensive suit trousers, bringing himself down to her exact eye level.

"I didn't know," Dominic choked out, his deep voice breaking with a raw, agonizing guilt. "I swear to God, Sophie, I had no idea she stole him. If I had known... I would have burned the city to the ground to bring him back to you."

Sophie looked up at the terrifying billionaire. She saw the absolute, unbroken truth in his dark eyes. He was a victim of Vanessa's monstrous lies, just like she was.

"He's safe now," Sophie whispered softly, wiping a tear from her cheek. "We're safe."

Dominic reached out, his heavily tattooed hand gently, respectfully cupping Sophie's cheek. He didn't pull away.

"He needs his mother," Dominic said softly, his voice incredibly smooth and intimate. "And I need a reason to be a better man. Don't go back to the kitchen, Sophie. Come home with us."

👉 Sophie took a shaky breath, realizing her act of defiance had just secured her entire family's future.
