The jury convicted Linda on every major count.
Attempted murder.
Child poisoning.
Aggravated assault.
Evidence tampering.
Obstruction.
She received thirty-eight years.
At sentencing, she spoke directly to Mark.
“I did everything for this family.”
Mark stood only because Rachel held his arm.
“No,” he said. “You did everything to keep the family beneath you.”
Linda looked at me last.
“You turned them against me.”
I answered quietly.
“Colton survived you.”
That was the only sentence I gave her.
Chief Hayes faced disciplinary review for striking Linda in the waiting room.
He accepted responsibility.
The hospital suspended him for two weeks.
He did not complain.
“I wanted to hurt her,” he told the board. “That is not the same as protecting Piper.”

I respected him more for that.
The hospital strengthened security procedures around family violence.
