Chapter 2 - The Ten-Year-Old's Voice

The cinematic realism of the suffocating, paralyzing silence gripped the entire ballroom.

Before Mark could gloat any further, ten-year-old Emma stepped out from the shadows of the stage. She had long, beautiful brown hair and wore an elegant light blue ballgown dress.

She didn't look like a heartbroken child. She walked with a bold, terrifying confidence that completely unnerved the wealthy crowd.

Emma walked directly up to her father and smoothly snatched the microphone out of his hand.

Claire stepped up onto the stage right behind her daughter. She didn't scream or throw a drink in Vanessa's face. The elegant mother simply stood calmly beside her child, placing a fiercely supportive, loving hand on Emma’s shoulder.

"I want to thank you for taking my dad off our hands, Vanessa," Emma spoke clearly into the microphone. Her young, steady voice commanded the massive room with chilling authority.

Mark’s triumphant smile faltered. He nervously adjusted his black bow tie. "Emma, sweetie, go back to your table. This is adult business."

Emma completely ignored him. She reached into the pocket of her light blue blazer that matched her dress.

She pulled out a small, sleek black USB flash drive. She held it high in the air, ensuring the crystal chandeliers caught the light on the metal edge so the entire ballroom of wealthy guests could see it clearly.

"And my mom isn't walking away empty-handed," Emma announced, her voice unwavering. "I copied everything off my dad's secret phone."

👉 Mark stared at the tiny black piece of plastic in his daughter's hand, and his entire arrogant reality began to violently collapse.
