Chapter 1 - The Removed Ring

The elegant, multi-million-dollar hotel reception suite was a cinematic display of flawless, untouched luxury. Warm, golden light poured from heavy crystal chandeliers and modern table lamps, casting a beautiful glow over the cream velvet sofa and the tall, expansive windows overlooking the glittering city at night.
But the sophisticated, high-society atmosphere was completely suffocated by a sickening display of absolute, unapologetic betrayal.
Olivia Bellini, a beautiful mid-thirties wife with long, loose brunette waves, stood completely still near the mirrored drinks table. She was visibly, heavily pregnant, wearing a flawless, long-sleeved fitted ivory gown and a delicate diamond pendant necklace. But she wasn't crying. She was staring down at her own hand, slowly, deliberately sliding her multi-million-dollar diamond wedding ring off her finger.
Standing exactly ten feet away from her was her husband, Matteo.
The forty-one-year-old mafia boss was devastatingly handsome, with swept-back dark hair, a short, neat beard, and heavy, intimidating tattoos creeping out from under the collar of his black suit and open-collar black shirt. He radiated the crushing, undeniable authority of a true apex predator.
Standing right beside him, pressing her body intimately against his arm, was Serena Conti.
The twenty-nine-year-old mistress had long blonde waves and wore a highly revealing burgundy satin gown with thin straps. She was also visibly pregnant, resting one hand protectively against her stomach, a toxic, victorious smirk twisting her flawless face.
Matteo didn't look ashamed. He looked at his wife with cold, calculating detachment.
"She's giving me an heir," Matteo stated clinically, entirely devoid of human mercy.
A tight close-up captured Olivia. Her dark eyes lifted toward him, wet with unshed tears, but utterly, terrifyingly steady.

"And what am I giving you?" Olivia whispered cleanly.
👉 Matteo’s gaze dropped to his wife's pregnant stomach, entirely unaware of the nuclear bomb she had just armed.
