Chapter 9 - The Paternity Report Did Not Become Rachel’s Weapon
Rachel asked for the original test report.
Diane had it.
She initially refused.
Then Adam’s attorney requested it formally because it involved Noah’s private genetic information.
Diane surrendered the copy.
Rachel read:
Probability of paternity: greater than 99.99%.
She felt no triumph.
The report did not prove she was a good wife.
Did not erase the Mark conversation.
Did not prove Diane evil.
It answered one biological question Adam had been too frightened to ask honestly.
Then privacy.
Rachel requested that Diane destroy any additional copies after counsel preserved what was required for family records.

Noah deserved not to have his DNA result become an object passed around during adult arguments.
Adam agreed.
Then Rachel did something unexpected.
She did not keep a framed copy.

“No. You wanted him to distrust me.”
Diane started denying.

“I wanted him to ask himself whether you were capable of lying.”
