The emergency suspension lasted:
seventy-two hours automatically
unless the independent co-trustee extended it.
Rowan extended it.
Not because:
Marianne said so.
Because there was:
police documentation,
hospital documentation,
financial papers prepared for execution,
credible evidence of coercion.
They froze:
pending Harbor House support,
Ethan’s delegated family-office access,
his authority over holding-company data beyond basic beneficiary reporting,
Vanessa’s portal permissions.
Routine beneficiary rights were not erased.
Trust taxes still paid.
Existing obligations still handled.
This irritated Ethan more than a dramatic disinheritance might have.
Because process replaced:
family negotiation.
He could no longer call me and say:
“Mom, fix this.”
He had to communicate through:
counsel,
trustee,
governance procedures.
For the first time, anger did not create:
faster access.
It created:
more scrutiny.
