Chapter 3 - THE MEDICAL RECORD THAT NEVER BELONGED TO HER
The psychiatric declaration came from Dr. Calvin Price.
Price had treated my father years earlier.
He had never examined Emily.
Still, his report described:
Pregnancy-induced psychosis.
Paranoid distrust of family.
Financial instability.
Refusal of prenatal care.
Aggressive episodes.
Possible danger to the unborn child.
Every line connected to an incident my family had manufactured.
Emily missed prenatal appointments because the driver never arrived.
Then the record said she refused care.
She demanded her phone.
Then the staff described her as agitated.
She tried to leave through the front gate.
Security stopped her.
The incident became “wandering behavior.”
She threw a glass after Margaret slapped her.
The report called it violence.
A lie built from edited truth is harder to break than a complete invention.
Lena obtained the actual prenatal records from Emily’s independent obstetrician, Dr. Sarah Collins.
The records showed no psychosis.
No dangerous behavior.
No refusal of care.
They did show bruising.
Weight loss.
Elevated blood pressure.
And a private note:
PATIENT REPORTS FAMILY RESTRICTING PHONE ACCESS AND TRANSPORTATION.
Dr. Collins attempted to follow up.
The office received an email supposedly from Emily requesting no further contact.
The message came from Ashley’s laptop.
The medical conspiracy became larger than humiliation.
My family intended to establish incapacity before the baby was born.
Why?
The leather folder answered.
My grandfather’s trust transferred controlling voting rights to the first child of my marriage.
If Emily gave birth while legally competent, she and I jointly controlled those rights as guardians.
If she was declared unfit, the family court could appoint a temporary guardian.
Margaret had nominated herself.
Michael would control the corporate proxy.
Ashley would manage the child’s public trust.
