Chapter 1 - The Unexpected Guest

The grand ballroom was bathed in bright, dazzling daylight pouring through the massive arched windows. It was an exclusive afternoon gala, filled with perfectly arranged dining tables, crystal centerpieces, and the terrifyingly wealthy elite of the city.

Sitting alone at the head table was Lucas.

He was thirty-two, wearing an impeccably tailored dark suit. He was the most powerful, untouchable CEO in the room, surrounded by an invisible wall of authority. Several massive security guards in dark suits stood like statues in the background, ensuring no one bothered the billionaire.

Suddenly, the heavy, suffocating protocol of the high-society event was broken.

Lily, a beautiful nine-year-old girl, slipped past the security detail. She wore a simple, elegant white dress and clutched a battered stuffed animal tightly to her chest. She wasn't terrified by the crystal chandeliers or the intimidating men in suits. She walked with quiet, absolute determination directly toward the head table.

Lucas frowned, turning slowly in his heavy mahogany chair as the little girl approached him. He expected her to ask for an autograph or maybe a donation for a school charity.

Lily stopped inches from the billionaire. She looked dead into his cold, untouchable eyes, entirely fearless.

"I think you're my daddy," Lily stated clearly, her innocent voice cutting perfectly through the ambient noise of the ballroom.

👉 Lucas thought it was a pathetic prank, completely unaware that his heart was about to completely stop beating.
