Chapter 3 - The Final Sign

Ethan looked down at Vanessa’s manicured hand resting intimately on his arm. His trust, his love, and his entire future with this woman completely shattered into a million jagged pieces.
He didn't pull away. A quick, violent outburst would alert her that the trap was compromised. He had to play the role of the weak, dying billionaire for just a little longer.
As Maria hurriedly pulled her daughter down the hallway toward the servant’s stairs, Lily looked back over her shoulder one last time.
She looked directly into Ethan's eyes. She raised her small, trembling hands and signed one final, terrifying warning.
“Don't eat tonight.”
The cinematic realism of the absolute, crushing evil taking place under his own roof paralyzed Ethan.
For three agonizing months, doctors had run every test imaginable, unable to diagnose the sudden liver failure and neurological decay slowly shutting his body down. They had given him less than a year to live. Vanessa had convinced him to rush the engagement party so they could be married before he "tragically" passed away, leaving her in complete control of his massive corporate empire.
She wasn't mourning him. She was actively micro-dosing him with an untraceable, lethal poison.
"Ethan?" Vanessa asked sweetly, her flawless brow furrowing in fake concern. "Are you feeling dizzy again? Do you need to sit down?"

"No," Ethan replied smoothly, his deep voice masking a dark, demonic promise of absolute vengeance. "I feel perfectly fine, Vanessa. Let's go make that toast."
👉 Ethan walked back into the grand ballroom, and the brilliant, lethal trap he was about to set would destroy her soul.
