Chapter 7 - The Truth Unleashed

"I was running from her, Adrian!" Elena cried out, the heavy silence of the ballroom giving her voice a piercing clarity.

She clutched Mara, tears finally streaming freely down her face as five years of suppressed agony poured out.

"Five years ago, I found the hidden ledgers," Elena confessed, looking desperately at Adrian. "I found out Victoria had been siphoning millions from the syndicate to fund her own offshore cartel. When I confronted her, she told me she would kill me. She said if I didn't take the fall and run, she would carve my unborn baby out of me!"

The entire ballroom gasped in absolute, horrified shock.

Victoria’s face drained of all color. The arrogant, gold-gowned matriarch stumbled backward, her facade crumbling. "She's lying! She's a manipulative little rat! Adrian, you can't possibly believe this garbage!"

Adrian didn't need to see the old ledgers. He didn't need to hear another word. He looked at the visceral, undeniable terror in his wife's eyes, and he looked at the guilty, frantic panic sweating through Victoria’s expensive makeup.

He had been a fool. A blind, arrogant fool. And his blindness had forced his wife and daughter to live in a nightmare.

Adrian reached into his black tuxedo jacket. He didn't pull a weapon. He pulled a sleek, encrypted phone, tapping a single button.

"Lock down the building," Adrian ordered into the device, his eyes dead and unfeeling as he stared at Victoria.

👉 The mafia boss had just sealed the room, and Victoria’s punishment was about to be swift, brutal, and utterly satisfying.
