Caroline had anticipated digital attack.
The file on her phone was not real.
It was a monitored decoy created with federal investigators.
When Marcus’s network accessed it, the system identified every connected account.
Three offshore banks.
Two shell companies.
One emergency trust controlled by Diane.
And a private holding company in Priscilla’s name that Priscilla had never seen.
Reed smiled when the trace completed.
“Thank you for logging in.”
Marcus’s confidence vanished.
The takeover reversed.
Federal authorities froze the shell companies.
Priscilla used her independent voting authority to remove the compromised Adair board members.
Caroline activated dormant founder rights to suspend Marcus and every executive linked to the fraud.
Diane tried to challenge the action.
Caroline turned toward her.
“You taught him structures matter more than people.”
“Yes.”
“Then you should understand this.”
She held up the founder-control clause.
“I still own the structure.”
The board emergency session occurred by secure video during the storm.
Caroline spoke from the beach house.
Priscilla beside her.
Two women Marcus believed would never compare documents.
Together, they dismantled the plan.
Marcus was arrested for conspiracy, fraud, assault, attempted coercive control, and obstruction.
Diane was charged with financial conspiracy, medical coercion, and attempted guardianship fraud.
Dr. Kline faced multiple charges.
The Adair attorney cooperated.
Aegis executives turned on one another.
By dawn, the wedding venue looked less like a celebration than the aftermath of a corporate war.
White roses scattered across wet sand.
Champagne tables overturned.
The floral arch bent by wind.
Caroline stood near the water.
Priscilla joined her.
“Did you love him?”
Caroline answered honestly.
“Yes.”
“I thought I did.”
“Maybe you did.”
Priscilla looked surprised.
