Chapter 9 - The House Cleaning

Charlotte calmly returned her phone to her structured black leather handbag, the polished gold buttons on her jacket gleaming in the sunlight.

"Well," Charlotte said, her voice cutting through Brandon’s pathetic sobbing. "I think this celebration has officially concluded."

She looked at the uniformed attendant standing by the heavy oak doors.

"David," Charlotte called out smoothly.

The attendant instantly straightened up, stepping forward with absolute respect. "Yes, Ms. Prescott?"

"Please contact the local authorities and provide them with these bank statements," Charlotte ordered, handing him a printed folder from her bag. "Then, inform the guests that the property is now closed for a private corporate event. And finally... escort these two trespassers off my driveway."

"Right away, ma'am," the attendant nodded, signaling to the hidden security detail inside the foyer.

Brooke shrieked as two burly security guards in dark suits stepped out of the elegant mansion, moving aggressively toward her. "You can't do this! I have a baby! We have nowhere to go!"

"I hear Marcus Vance has a lovely apartment," Charlotte offered with a faint, chilling smile. "Perhaps you should ask him to let you in."

Brandon didn't even fight. He just stayed on his knees, staring blankly at the red carpet as the guards grabbed him by the arms and hauled him to his feet.

"Charlotte, please," Brandon whispered, his voice broken and hollow. "I'm sorry. I lost everything."

"You didn't lose it, Brandon," Charlotte replied, her long chestnut waves catching the wind as she turned her back on him. "You threw it away."
