Chapter 6 - The Silent King's Wrath

Vincent didn't need to hear the threat. He felt the exact vibration of Silas stepping onto the loose floorboard near the doorway.

With blinding, terrifying speed, Vincent didn't cower behind the table. He surged upward.

He fired three flawless, suppressed shots into the dark. Two of the mercenaries dropped instantly, hit perfectly in the chest.

"Kill him!" Silas shrieked, diving behind a marble pillar in sheer panic.

The room erupted into absolute chaos. I covered my ears, pressing myself flat against the floor. But Vincent moved like a ghost. Without the overwhelming, chaotic noise of the gunfire to distract him, his visual focus was superhuman. He tracked the muzzle flashes in the dark, systematically executing the mercenaries with chilling, robotic precision.

Within ninety seconds, the dining room was completely silent again.

Only Silas was left, bleeding heavily from a gunshot wound to his shoulder, pinned behind the pillar.

"You can't kill me, Vincent!" Silas wept hysterically, completely abandoning his arrogant persona. "The Russian cartel is backing my coup! If I die, they will burn this entire city to the ground!"

Vincent couldn't hear him. He didn't care.

He walked slowly toward the pillar, reloading his weapon with cold, mechanical efficiency.

I scrambled out from behind the table. I grabbed my phone, desperately typing a message, and shoved the glowing screen into Vincent’s line of sight before he could pull the trigger.

He’s working with the Russians. He has backup coming.

Vincent stopped. He read the screen, his dark eyes narrowing.

👉 Vincent lowered his gun, but the trap he was about to set for his traitorous brother was a thousand times worse than death.
