Chapter 10 - The Unbreakable Sister

The bright, beautiful afternoon sunshine poured through the large windows of a stunning, modern penthouse apartment overlooking the city.

Maryanne stood near the glass, completely free of the heavy, suffocating silver gown. She wore a sharp, elegant summer dress, radiating absolute health, power, and incredible joy. She wasn't holding back tears, and she wasn't hiding in her husband's shadow.

She was standing completely tall, immensely wealthy, and entirely secure in her own independence.

She smiled warmly, looking toward the open kitchen.

Marcus was standing at the counter, wearing a relaxed, comfortable shirt instead of a dark suit. He was completely disarmed and at peace, carefully pouring two glasses of expensive wine. He handed one to his sister, raising his glass in a silent, profound toast to her freedom.

Maryanne smiled, her heart swelling with an overwhelming, unshakeable peace. The nightmare was completely over, proving that true power isn't found in a mafia empire or a toxic marriage—it is found in having the incredible, fearless courage to walk away from the monsters, knowing your true family will always protect you in the dark.

Do you think getting arrested and losing his empire was enough justice for Vincent, or did the cruel husband deserve a harsher punishment for shielding his mistress?
