Sabina Sterling was a woman entirely obsessed with legacy, bloodlines, and high-society control. For her entire life, she had meticulously curated her family's image, ensuring that her son, Callan, had access to the finest private schools and elite social circles. She had expected Callan to marry the daughter of a billionaire CEO to further consolidate their immense wealth.
Instead, Callan married Jessamine.

But tragically, Arthur had passed away from a sudden heart attack just six months ago, exactly when Jessamine first discovered she was pregnant.
With Arthur gone, Sabina immediately seized total, undisputed control of the massive Sterling family trust. She weaponized the finances instantly, cutting Callan and Jessamine out of the primary accounts and forcing them to live on a strict, demeaning allowance. She constantly threatened to completely disinherit Callan if he didn't force Jessamine to quit her teaching job and conform to Sabina’s suffocating high-society standards.
Callan had been desperately trying to navigate the agonizing legal complexities of his father's estate, attempting to protect his pregnant wife from his mother's increasing hostility.
