Chapter 2 - The Rescue

The cinematic tension on the illuminated terrace spiked to a paralyzing level.

Lea thrashed in pure, unadulterated terror beneath the glowing blue surface. She didn't know how to swim. The heavy black fabric of her classic maid uniform was soaking up the water, wrapping around her legs like an anchor and pulling her violently toward the bottom of the deep end.

She swallowed a mouthful of chlorinated water, her lungs burning with agonizing desperation.

Above the surface, the wealthy guests gasped and backed away in horror. But Daniel didn't wait for his security team.

Without slowing his sprint across the marble deck, the billionaire aggressively tore off his tailored black tuxedo jacket and hurled it aside. He didn't take off his expensive leather shoes. He didn't hesitate for a single microsecond.

Daniel dove directly into the deep end of the pool in front of hundreds of high-society elites, completely ignoring his frantic fiancée.

"Daniel!" Vivian screamed from the edge of the pool, her voice shrill with sudden, fake panic. "What are you doing?!"

Daniel ignored her. He broke through the water, his powerful arms pulling him down until he grabbed Lea by the waist of her uniform. He kicked hard, breaking the surface and gasping for air.

With incredible strength, Daniel dragged a violently coughing, shaking Lea toward the edge of the pool. He hoisted her up onto the cold marble deck, entirely soaking his expensive white dress shirt and dark trousers.

Vivian immediately rushed over, dropping to her knees in her champagne-gold gown. She plastered a mask of fake, gentle concern over her face to completely cover up her malicious, calculated attack.

👉 Vivian thought she could control the narrative, but she was about to realize that Lea was done staying silent.
