The chaotic, toxic energy was forcefully dragged off the luxury terrace.
The wealthy guests watched in stunned silence as Vivian was shoved into a security holding room, her high-society reputation permanently destroyed.
Daniel didn't give her another second of his attention. He crouched back down next to Lea, who was sitting up, wrapped in a warm, dry towel provided by the catering staff.
He gently handed her the wet scholarship receipt.
"Your son earned this, Lea," Daniel said softly, his voice filled with profound, genuine respect. "He had the highest test scores in the state. I personally selected him for the grant."
Lea clutched the wet piece of paper to her chest, sobbing tears of pure, overwhelming joy and relief. Her son’s future was secure.
"Thank you, Mr. Cross," Lea wept, looking at the billionaire who had just saved both of their lives.
"You don't need to call me Mr. Cross anymore," Daniel smiled warmly, helping her to her feet. "Because you are no longer a maid in this house."
Within exactly twenty minutes, the flashing red and blue lights of multiple federal police cruisers illuminated the grand windows of the estate.
