Chapter 6 - The Federal Call

Daniel pulled his waterproof smartphone from his soaked trousers.
"You didn't redirect anything, Vivian," Daniel said smoothly, completely immune to her pathetic panic. "Because my foundation requires dual-signature authorization for all external corporate grants."
Vivian’s jaw dropped. The color violently drained from her contoured face.
"You forged my signature to steal from a charity," Daniel explained, his voice echoing loudly enough for the entire gala to hear. "And then you attempted to murder a witness to cover up your federal felony."
"No! Daniel, please!" Vivian wailed hysterically, dropping to her knees on the wet marble floor, entirely destroying her elegant aesthetic.
Daniel dialed a number on his phone, completely ignoring her tears.
"Security," Daniel commanded his private team. "Lock the estate gates. And contact the federal authorities immediately. Tell them we have a suspect detained for felony embezzlement and attempted murder."
Vivian let out a horrific, high-pitched shriek of pure, apocalyptic terror.
She wasn't just losing her billionaire lifestyle. She was going to federal prison.
"You can't do this to me!" Vivian screamed, clawing at her own gold dress. "We are getting married! I am your equal!"
"You are a parasite," Daniel whispered coldly.

Two massive, heavily armed private security guards stepped out from the crowd of guests. They didn't ask nicely. They grabbed the weeping, humiliated fiancée by the arms and violently hauled her to her feet, dragging her away from the pool as she screamed for mercy.
👉 Daniel turned his back on the monster, focusing entirely on the brave mother who had risked her life for her son.
