Chapter 6 - The Perfect Trap

A profound, overwhelming sense of gratitude washed over the ruthless billionaire. This homeless child, who had absolutely nothing, had risked her own safety to save a stranger.

"You're never sleeping in an alley again, Luna," Alexander promised, his voice thick with raw emotion.

He stood up and pulled his phone from his pocket, dialing Marcus.

"Marcus, secure the prep cook. He's compromised. Send a heavily armed escort to my location in the alley to pick up a VIP guest. And Marcus? Call Julian."

"What do I tell him, sir?" Marcus asked over the line.

A dark, lethal smirk crossed Alexander’s face. "Tell him I collapsed at the table. Tell him I'm unresponsive, and he needs to get to the private hospital wing immediately."

Twenty minutes later, the trap was set.

Inside Alexander’s ultra-secure, private medical facility across town, the lights were dimmed. Celeste lay in a hospital bed, barely conscious, her system flushed by the medical team. She was heavily sedated and handcuffed to the metal bed rail.

Alexander stood in the dark observation room behind a sheet of two-way glass, watching the door to Celeste's room. Luna sat safely beside him in a plush leather chair, eating a warm bowl of soup Marcus had brought her.

The heavy door to the medical suite burst open.

Julian stormed in, wearing his sharp grey suit and the heavy gold watch Luna had described. His face was twisted into a mask of fake, exaggerated panic.
