Chapter 10 - Ethan Had Hidden One Piece of the Audit

Grant never successfully stole the entire gray packet.
Ethan had made sure of that.
When Grant saw him in the executive hall, Ethan noticed one page slide halfway out of the envelope.
It fell.
Grant did not see.
Ethan picked it up.
He could not understand the numbers.
But he recognized Silvio’s handwriting at the top:
ASK LUCINDA ABOUT VALE CONSULTING.
Ethan folded the page and put it inside his trouser pocket.
When Grant shoved him into the SUV, the paper remained there.
At the hospital, a nurse found it while helping him change.
Silvio received it inside a plastic belongings bag.
That single sheet became important because the original audit packet disappeared.
Grant had discarded or destroyed it during the chaos.
But the resort’s accounting system retained copies of most underlying documents.
The page from Ethan proved Silvio had already identified Vale Consulting before the incident.
Grant could no longer claim the audit investigation was invented afterward in retaliation.
His seven-year-old nephew had accidentally preserved the timeline.
Once again—

Grant underestimated the child he was trying to silence.
