Julian eventually married again. Not Chloe.
A woman named Rachel Morgan, an attorney he met through nonprofit board. He told her his history early.
She insisted on independent legal review of every family asset before engagement. Good.
Margaret loved her. That almost worried Rachel.
Then Julian and Rachel signed prenup. Clear.
No trust surprises. No secret amendments.
Then Julian asked Margaret not to run background check. She laughed.
Then actually did not. Progress.
I heard through Margaret. No jealousy.
Then wedding invitation? Julian sent one.
I declined. Wished well.
Then Rachel wrote a note thanking me? Too much. No.
Then Julian became stepfather to Rachel’s son. Noah gained another household. Complicated. Healthy enough.
Then one day Margaret said: “Julian is finally boring.” We laughed.
That was highest compliment. Then he became involved with governance reform at Vance Global as independent? He shouldn't return executive. Maybe later served nonvoting family shareholder liaison after years. Fine.
He did not reclaim CEO path. He stopped equating inheritance with identity.
That was bigger. Then Vance Global itself eventually sold minority stake to institutional investor.
Family control diluted. Margaret supported.
