The legal resolution of the property issue was far less dramatic than Evelyn feared and far more decisive than she hoped.
Ashbourne House remained inside Margaret’s revocable trust.
No transfer.
No family LLC.
No event-development agreement.
No new management structure.
Margaret amended her trust administration documents to require that any future transfer of the residence or development rights involve independent counsel and a written capacity confirmation if questions were ever raised about her condition.
She also removed Daniel from one potential emergency decision-making role temporarily.
That surprised him.
“Why me?”
“Because I love you,” Margaret said. “And because loving me doesn’t make you immune to pressure from your wife.”
Daniel accepted it.
That was one of the strongest signs he was finally changing.
Control of certain emergency property matters instead shifted to a professional co-trustee working with Susan.
Margaret remained fully in charge while competent.
The structure simply made it harder for anyone to create another rushed situation around her.
As for the development offer, it expired.
The land remained pasture.
Evelyn called that a wasted opportunity.
