The wooden box sat inside a clear evidence case.
The brass key beside it.
The prosecution built the story through sequence.

Forged copies.
Security footage.
Medical files.
Offshore transfers.
Threats.
Notary records.
Clara testified for three days.
The defense attacked her delay.
“You remained in the mansion.”
“Yes.”
“You attended dinners.”
“Yes.”
“You signed documents.”
“Under threat.”
“You smiled in photographs.”
“Because fear can smile.”
The attorney showed messages where Clara apologized to Liam.
“You loved him.”
“I loved who he pretended to be.”
“You accepted financial support.”
“He had frozen my accounts.”
“You never called police.”
“He monitored my phone.”
The defense turned toward Eleanor.
“Your mother is one of the richest women in America. You expect the jury to believe you had no way out?”
Clara looked at the jury.
“Money nearby is not freedom when the person controlling the door controls the message.”
Hannah testified next.
The defense called her disloyal staff.
She answered:
“I was loyal to the person being harmed.”
Eleanor testified last.
They tried to turn the case into billionaire retaliation.
She admitted purchasing Vance debt.
Admitted ordering audits.
Admitted freezing accounts.
Then said:
“Every action I took became possible because their fraud created the contractual right.”
The documents agreed.
Beatrice took the stand.
She called Clara weak.
Ungrateful.
Manipulative.
The prosecutor played the footage of Beatrice forcing Clara to sign blank pages.
Then the slap.
Then the threat against Eleanor’s workshop.
Beatrice stopped speaking.

Liam received thirty-eight years.
Michael thirty-two.
