Chapter 9 - The Cleared Room

The chaotic, violent energy completely evaporated from the massive dining room.

Damian turned around and looked at the crowd of wealthy, stunned guests who were still whispering in absolute shock.

"The dinner is over," Damian announced, his voice projecting with absolute, undeniable authority.

His security team immediately stepped forward, politely but firmly escorting the shocked elite out of the estate. Within minutes, the massive, bright room was completely quiet, save for Damian, Ethan, and Clara.

Clara was still standing near Ethan’s chair, her hands trembling slightly from the adrenaline of the night. She had just witnessed the absolute destruction of a billionaire's fiancée. She expected to simply go back to the kitchen and finish her shift washing dishes.

Damian walked slowly toward her.

The cold, terrifying executioner completely vanished. He looked exhausted, but his dark eyes were filled with a profound, overwhelming respect. He didn't look at her like a servant. He looked at her like a savior.

He dropped to one knee right on the hardwood floor, entirely ignoring his expensive black suit, and wrapped his massive, tattooed arms around his son. He held Ethan tightly, burying his face in the boy's shoulder.

"I am so sorry I let her in here, buddy," Damian choked out, a single tear escaping his dark eyes. "She will never, ever come near you again."

"It's okay, Daddy," Ethan smiled, patting his father's back. "Clara saved me."
