Chapter 2 - The Arrival of the King

Before Claudia could pull the terrace doors shut, a massive fleet of black SUVs aggressively pulled into the lodge’s circular driveway. The heavy tires crunched against the packed snow.

The Bellacorte convoy had arrived.

The heavy front doors of the lodge swung open, and the ambient chatter of the party instantly died. Richard Bellacorte stepped inside. The 61-year-old patriarch was powerfully built, deeply masculine, and radiated the terrifying, intimidating aura of a veteran Mafia boss. He wore a flawless, tailored dark three-piece suit, an expensive overcoat, a heavy gold signet ring, and highly polished leather shoes.

Every guest lowered their eyes in respect. But Richard’s intense, commanding gaze completely ignored the party.

His eyes locked directly onto the open terrace doors at the back of the hall. He saw Claudia standing there. And then, he saw the tiny, barefoot boy trembling uncontrollably in the deep snow.

Richard’s blood turned to absolute ice.

He didn't speak. He moved with a terrifying, purposeful speed, storming right past Claudia and stepping out into the freezing blizzard. Without a second of hesitation, the mafia boss stripped off his heavy, expensive overcoat and wrapped it securely around Noah’s shivering, tiny body, lifting the boy gently into his arms.

"Grandpa…" Noah sobbed, burying his freezing face into Richard’s tailored suit, pointing a trembling finger at the snowbank. "I made it for your birthday."

Richard bent down and picked up the handmade wooden airplane from the ice.

Before Richard could turn back to the hall, Mark Bellacorte—Noah’s 38-year-old father—hurried over. Wearing an expensive cashmere sweater and tailored trousers, Mark didn't look at his freezing son with any concern. He looked at his father with nervous irritation, reaching out to grab the wooden toy.

"Dad," Mark sighed, rolling his eyes dismissively. "It’s just a small punishment."

👉 Mark thought he was casually disciplining a disobedient child, but his father’s eyes were about to turn completely black with rage.
