Chapter 8 - The Avalanche of Truth

"Grab him."
Richard’s command was a demonic whisper.
The bodyguards surged forward like wolves. They grabbed Mark by the collar of his expensive cashmere sweater and violently dragged him back to the center of the room, throwing him down onto the polished floor right next to his weeping, terrified wife.
Richard slowly stood up from the fireplace, leaving Noah safely wrapped in his warm overcoat.
The veteran mafia boss towered over the two traitors. The cinematic, lethal energy radiating from his broad shoulders was absolutely suffocating. He didn't even need to plug the SD card into a computer. The frantic note and the absolute, undeniable guilt sweating from their pores was all the proof the syndicate required.
"You murdered her," Richard stated, the horrifying reality finally setting in. "You murdered the mother of your child, my daughter-in-law, because she caught you embezzling from my accounts."
"Dad, please! It was Claudia's idea!" Mark shrieked, instantly turning on his wife like a cornered rat. "She wanted the inheritance! She hired the mechanic! I just kept quiet because she threatened me!"
"You lying coward!" Claudia screamed back, thrashing against the guards holding her down. "You handed him the cash! You wanted her dead so you could take complete control of the western ports!"
