Chapter 10 - The True Identity

The chaotic, overwhelming energy completely evaporated from the ballroom.

Later that night, the hotel was quiet. Nova stood on the private terrace overlooking the city, the cool night air blowing against her tailored suit. She didn't feel like a ghost anymore. She felt completely, undeniably real.

Grayson walked out onto the terrace. He didn't look like a billionaire owner. He looked like the teenage boy she had pulled from the smoke nine years ago.

"You didn't have to tell them about yourself," Nova said softly, looking at the city lights.

"I wanted to," Grayson replied, stepping closer. "I spent my entire adult life looking for you. I wasn't going to let her turn your sacrifice into a scandal."

Nova finally smiled. It was a genuine, beautiful smile.

"Your job as a maid is officially over," Grayson stated gently. "I am launching a new international security and humanitarian logistics division for my company. I want you to run it. Quadruple salary, full benefits, and you build the team your way. No more hiding."

Nova looked at the man she had saved, realizing her life was finally coming full circle.

She wasn't going back to the violent shadows, and she wasn't going back to carrying champagne. She had secured a beautiful, powerful future where she could protect people on her own terms.

"I'll take the job," Nova agreed softly.
