Chapter 4 - The Owner's Command

"Nobody touches her."
Three words. Not loud, but vibrating with absolute, titanium authority.
Grayson Cole, the thirty-something billionaire owner of the Richmond Grand, walked straight across the ballroom. He was wearing a flawless black tuxedo. He completely ignored his humiliated fiancée sitting on the wet marble floor.
He stopped directly in front of Nova.
"Are you hurt?" Grayson asked, his dark eyes entirely focused on her.
Nova hated how much that question confirmed. He knew who she was.
"No, sir," Nova replied stiffly.
"She attacked me!" Brooke shrieked from the floor, her face crimson with rage. "Fire her, Grayson! Throw her out!"
Judge Reed stood up from Table Fourteen. His voice echoed through the silent ballroom.
"She did not," the retired judge stated firmly. He pointed toward the wet marble. "You initiated physical contact. She merely redirected you. I saw it. We all saw it."
Ambassador Morel and Ruth Mercer stood up in absolute agreement.
Brooke looked around in sheer panic. "This is insane! Grayson, fire her right now!"
Grayson didn't even look at Brooke. He kept his eyes on Nova.
"Would you like to leave the floor?" Grayson asked quietly.
"I’d like to finish my shift," Nova answered.
Brooke let out a hysterical laugh. "You can't let her stay!"
Grayson finally looked down at his fiancée.
"No," Grayson stated coldly.

Not no to Nova. No to Brooke.
👉 Brooke stormed out of the ballroom, completely unaware of the digital war she was about to unleash.
