Chapter 4 - The Digital Guillotine

Dante stood in the center of the grand room, holding Sophia's phone.
Sophia was sobbing hysterically, struggling against the massive bodyguards. "It's not what it looks like, Dante! I swear!"
Dante didn't need her passcode. His cyber-team had installed a backdoor on her phone months ago, just as a precaution. He unlocked the device and immediately opened her encrypted messaging app.
He didn't find messages to another man. He found messages to a rival cartel.
The cinematic realism of his absolute, unadulterated fury was terrifying. Dante’s sharp jawline locked.
He read the most recent text, sent exactly twenty minutes ago: The tracker is in his coat. He is leaving the gala at midnight. Blow up his car when he hits the bridge.
Dante’s blood turned to absolute ice. His own fiancée hadn't just bugged him; she had meticulously orchestrated his brutal assassination. She wanted to inherit his massive billion-dollar empire before the wedding even happened.
And if I hadn't noticed the faint slice in the silk lining while hanging up his coat in the cloakroom, Dante would have been burned alive inside his armored car in less than thirty minutes.
Dante slowly lowered the phone. He looked at Sophia. All the love, all the trust he had ever given her was completely, permanently erased, violently replaced by a demonic promise of absolute destruction.

"You cut the lining," Dante whispered, the sheer doom in his voice echoing off the crystal chandelier. "To guide the bomb."
👉 Sophia begged for mercy, but the financial ruin Dante was about to unleash would destroy her entire family.
