Chapter 6 - The Digital Ghost

The laptop screen glowed brightly in the center of the dark mahogany table.

The video began playing. The camera angle was low, shooting from the perspective of the stuffed bunny resting on a nursery shelf. The footage was crystal clear.

On the screen, Isabella was standing near the open balcony doors, wearing a white nightgown.

Suddenly, the bedroom doors opened. Marcus and Victoria walked into the nursery.

In the living room, the real Marcus physically staggered backward, his face turning the color of wet ash.

On the video, Victoria’s face was twisted in pure, toxic jealousy. "You need to sign the divorce papers, Isabella," Victoria hissed on the recording. "Dominic’s empire belongs with my cartel. You are just a pathetic, weak distraction."

"I'm not signing anything," Isabella replied fiercely. "Get out of my house before I call Dominic."

Marcus didn't hesitate. The trusted underboss stepped forward, grabbed Isabella by the shoulders, and violently shoved her backward. Isabella screamed as she tipped over the low balcony railing, disappearing into the dark night.

But the horror wasn't over.

On the video, Victoria turned around. She noticed little four-year-old Lucia hiding under the baby crib, clutching her knees in absolute terror, having witnessed the entire murder.

Victoria walked over to the crib. She knelt down, looking directly into the traumatized child's eyes with a demonic, cruel smile.
