Chapter 8 - The Repo Order

Dominic held the phone up to his mouth, his dark eyes locked fiercely onto mine.

"Listen to me very carefully," Dominic commanded the Chicago operative, his voice vibrating with absolute, merciless authority. "I want Marcus Vance completely dismantled. Today."

"Understood, Boss. What's the play?"

"Burn the boat," Dominic ordered smoothly. "Hack the logistics firm's server. Send irrefutable proof of massive corporate embezzlement from his specific terminal directly to the CEO. Then, freeze every single bank account tied to his social security number."

"It's done, Mr. Moretti."

"And one more thing," Dominic added, his voice dropping into a lethal growl. "Draft an anonymous letter to his new high-society wife. Include the documentation of his abandoned child in New York. Let her know she married a parasite. I want him entirely homeless by midnight."

"Yes, Boss."

Dominic ended the call. He didn't look angry. He looked like a man who had just casually swatted a mosquito.

I stood there, completely paralyzed, staring at the terrifying man who had just orchestrated the absolute, flawless destruction of the monster who broke my heart, all in under three minutes.

"Why are you doing this for me?" I whispered, tears streaming down my face. "You don't even know my name."

"My name is Dominic," he said softly, reaching out to gently wipe a tear from my cheek with his thumb. "And I'm doing it because no one should ever have to draw their Christmas presents on a bus ticket."

👉 The deadbeat husband was utterly destroyed, leaving Dominic to completely rewrite my future.
