Chapter 6 - The Eviction Notice

The lead security contractor didn't flinch at Trevor’s screaming. He was a towering, intimidating man who dealt with hostile takeovers for a living.

He walked directly up to Trevor, completely ignoring the stunned, wealthy investors standing nearby. He held out a thick, official legal document stamped with a red corporate seal.

"Trevor Vance," the contractor stated, his voice a deep, booming command that carried across the entire living room. "This property was officially sold at 2:00 PM this afternoon to Apex Commercial Holdings. You have exactly ten minutes to vacate the premises, or you will be arrested for criminal trespassing."

Kristen let out a high-pitched, horrific gasp from the white leather sofa, clutching her diamond necklace as if she were suddenly choking on it.

"Sold?!" Trevor shrieked wildly, the arrogant billionaire facade completely shattering. He aggressively snatched the document from the contractor's hand. "That is impossible! I own this house! I am the CEO!"

"You don't own anything, sir," the contractor replied coldly. "The title was held by the Gloria Vance Master Trust. The owner executed a cash sale. You are being evicted."

Trevor’s eyes frantically scanned the legal document. His hands began to shake violently. The signature at the bottom of the page was undeniable. It was his mother's.

"This is a mistake!" Trevor panicked, desperately looking back at his wealthy investors, trying to save face. "My mother is senile! She doesn't know what she's doing! I'll have this reversed in court tomorrow!"
