Chapter 8 - The Broken Queen

The heavy steel door groaned as Vincent kicked it open.

The small, windowless concrete room was freezing. The only light came from a single, flickering bare bulb hanging from the ceiling.

Huddled in the corner of the filthy room, wrapped in a thin, dirty blanket, was Clara.

She was devastatingly thin, her clothes ragged, her face pale and exhausted from three years of absolute hell. Beside her on a small crate was an old, stolen guard’s cell phone—the exact phone she had managed to swipe and use to call the mansion's private line before the battery died.

She flinched violently as the door burst open, terrified that her captors had returned to punish her.

"Clara," Vincent choked out, his voice cracking with a profound, agonizing emotion he hadn't felt in three years.

Clara slowly looked up. When her blurry vision finally focused on the towering man in the dark suit, she let out a horrific, breathless gasp.

"Vince?" she whispered, tears instantly flooding her beautiful eyes.

Vincent dropped his weapon onto the concrete. He fell to his knees in the filth, completely ruining his expensive suit, and violently pulled his wife into his strong, heavily tattooed arms. He buried his face in her neck, holding her with a fierce, unbreakable protection that he had been entirely denied for three years.

Clara sobbed uncontrollably, wrapping her weak arms tightly around his neck.

"You found me," Clara wept, her entire body shaking with pure, unadulterated relief. "Isabella... she took me, Vince. She told them to lock me away."

"I know, baby," Vincent whispered fiercely, kissing her forehead. "I know everything. She is never, ever going to hurt you again."

👉 Vincent carried his wife out of the freezing warehouse, preparing to deliver the ultimate, terrifying justice.
