Chapter 7 - The Final Signature

The grand dining room was a scene of pure arrogance.

Crystal glasses clinked. Dean sat at the head of the massive mahogany table, already acting like the boss. Camille sat beside him, wearing a stunning red dress, her hand resting intimately on Dean's leg under the table. They weren't even hiding their affair anymore.

Dr. Hale stood near the back, sipping scotch, waiting for his massive payday.

The heavy oak doors opened, and a bodyguard wheeled Massimo into the room.

Massimo looked terrible. He was pale, his head slumped, a blanket draped over his lap. The capos around the table murmured in pity. The legendary don looked like a broken, dying ghost.

"Massimo," Dean said, his voice dripping with fake sorrow. "Brother. Are you sure you're strong enough for this?"

"I am ready," Massimo whispered weakly.

The corrupt family lawyer placed a thick stack of legal documents on the table in front of Massimo's wheelchair. He handed Massimo an expensive gold fountain pen.

"Sign on the dotted line, Boss," Dean smiled, leaning forward like a starving vulture. "I'll take care of everything. I promise."

Massimo took the pen. His hand was visibly shaking. He touched the golden tip to the paper.

Camille smirked, catching Dean's eye. They had won. The empire, the billions, the power—it was all theirs.

Then, Massimo stopped.

He dropped the gold pen. It clattered loudly against the mahogany table.

"I can't sign it," Massimo said, his voice suddenly losing its weak, raspy tone.

Dean frowned, standing up from his chair. "Massimo, stop playing games. You’re sick. Sign the damn paper."

"I'm not sick, Dean," Massimo said.
