Chapter 9 - The Cleanup

Massimo looked down at Camille with pure, unadulterated disgust.
"You laughed at a child," Massimo said quietly. "You threatened a mother who works honestly to feed her daughter. You are nothing but poison."
Massimo whistled sharply. His true, loyal guards—men who had been waiting outside for this exact signal—stormed into the dining room with assault rifles raised.
"Take the doctor to the basement," Massimo ordered coldly. "And take Dean and Camille to the warehouse at the docks. I want them to know exactly what it feels like to be trapped in a chair with no way out."
Dean sobbed, begging for mercy as the guards violently dragged him across the marble floor by his collar. Camille shrieked hysterically, her designer dress tearing as she was hauled away into the night.
The traitors were gone. The room was purged.
Massimo holstered his weapon. He looked at the remaining capos around the table. They were sweating, absolutely terrified of the man who had just returned from the dead.
"This family is mine," Massimo declared, his cold gray eyes scanning the room. "If anyone else wants to try and take it, step forward now."
No one moved. No one breathed.
"Good," Massimo adjusted his vest. "Get out of my house."
The men practically ran for the doors, desperate to escape his wrath.
The grand dining room was finally quiet. The nightmare was over. Massimo took a deep breath, feeling the solid, magnificent strength in his legs. He was back.
