Chapter 6 - THE OTHER SIGNATURES
Paula Greene gave us seven documents. Three were routine corporate acknowledgments.
One was a maintenance authorization. One was the power of attorney.
Two were property-related consents. My signature appeared on all seven.
I had personally signed only three. That meant four needed explanation.
The first questionable consent approved extension of Bennett Strategic Services’ consulting agreement. Amount: Three hundred thousand dollars annually.
Beneficiary consent required because the contract involved related parties. My supposed signature sat under a paragraph saying I had reviewed potential conflicts.
I had never seen it. The second approved renewal of Eleanor’s residence arrangement.
My supposed signature. Again.
The third authorized Julian to act as beneficiary liaison during Edward’s final illness. That one mattered most.
Because it gave Julian access to trust communications that should have gone directly to me. Then the power of attorney.
A bridge across everything. Paula said Julian delivered all four.
Did Eleanor know? “Sometimes.”
Which? The consulting consent definitely.
Residence renewal definitely. Beneficiary liaison maybe.
Power of attorney? Paula did not know.
Then Vanessa. Why was she filming?
Not random cruelty. Vanessa’s husband, Graham Wells, had purchased a Harrow property at a discount through an introduction from Eleanor.
If related-party contracts were reviewed, that sale could be examined too. Vanessa had reason to fear my inheritance.
Then one text from Vanessa to Eleanor, sent the morning of the assault: Make sure Clara understands she cannot come in and start reversing old deals. There.
The flowerpots were not about property directly. But tension was.
Then another: If she gets emotional, document it. Document.
Vanessa filming suddenly looked different. Maybe she was trying to create evidence I was unstable or violent.
Then I slapped Eleanor. Perfect footage.
Except she also recorded the attack before it. What did Vanessa plan to do with video?
She said, through counsel, she began recording because Eleanor told her Clara had been “aggressive all week.” False.
Then she kept filming when Eleanor grabbed my hair. Why not stop? “I froze.” Maybe.
Then she laughed. Nervous?
Her own lawyer said yes. I did not need to decide.
Then police reviewed the full video. It showed Eleanor grabbing hair and kicking me before my slap.
That protected me from one-sided story, though my slap still existed. No criminal hero fantasy.
Eleanor faced assault charges. I faced possible cross-complaint? She declined? Prosecutor considered context and did not charge me due self-defense timing? But slap happened after attacks stopped. Could still be retaliation. Let's keep realistic: authorities treated my slap as potentially unlawful but elected not to pursue after full circumstances and mutual statements. Good.
Then civil issues. Maya separated everything. Assault. Forgery.
Trust governance. Related-party contracts.
Property renewals. No one giant conspiracy count.
Then Harrow’s independent board created special committee. I recused from initial review because I was beneficiary and spouse of involved person.
Good. Then they hired outside counsel.
Bennett contracts frozen pending review. Not canceled.
Eleanor’s penthouse lease not immediately terminated. Again.
No revenge eviction. Then one document made committee stop.
The below-appraisal property sold to Graham Wells had been approved after Julian submitted a beneficiary consent. My name.
My signature. Not mine.

There. That sale had already made Vanessa’s household roughly 1.8 million dollars on resale.
Now the question became whether Harrow could unwind or seek damages. And Vanessa, who had laughed while filming me on the floor, suddenly had a financial reason to keep calling me unstable.
