They lived separately for nine months.
Then together part-time.

No dramatic airport reunion.
No pregnancy fixing everything.
No family ultimatum.
Madison came back because both concluded the marriage was worth rebuilding.
Conditions changed.
Full financial disclosure annually.
No personal debt above a jointly agreed threshold without notice.
Separate investment accounts remained separate, but secrecy did not.
Andrew stopped asking Eleanor to hold anything he was afraid to tell Madison.
Madison stopped using family dinners to force business outcomes.
The dining club opened eighteen months later.
Smaller.
Profitable.
Madison led the hospitality concept under an ordinary management contract approved by directors who were not her husband.
That mattered.
She had authority because the role was defined.
Not because she married:
Andrew.
Eleanor attended opening night.
Stayed forty-five minutes.
Madison asked:
“Food?”
“Too much salt in the risotto.”
Madison rolled her eyes.
Then tasted it later.
