Chapter 14 - Claire’s Trust Was Rebuilt Around Independence

Marcus was removed as trustee immediately.
Victoria lost all authority.
An independent corporate trustee took over.
Every questionable payment was reviewed.
Approximately $121,000 was eventually classified as unsupported or improperly authorized.
Some money was recovered through restitution.
Other amounts became part of civil claims.
Noah’s trust did not magically double.
Nobody became instantly poor.
The system simply became harder to manipulate.
Medical payments now required direct provider verification.
Large reimbursements required independent review.
No relative could approve payments to a connected vendor.
Rocco had access to statements but could not casually withdraw money himself either.
That was intentional.
Claire had created the trust for Noah.
The best way to respect her was not to replace Victoria’s control with Rocco’s.
It was to protect Noah from everybody’s convenience.

Including his father’s.
