The Abusive Stepfather Slapped the Waitress in Front of Everyone — Until the Quiet Man at Table 6 Stood Up

Wesley didn't raise his voice. He didn't show anger. He just delivered absolute, terrifying justice.

"Take him to the warehouse by the docks," Wesley instructed his men, looking at Thaddius with pure disgust. "Ensure he understands the exact cost of raising a hand to a woman under my protection. When you are finished, put him on a freight ship bound for South America. If he ever steps foot in Boston again, don't bother calling me. Just end it."

Thaddius sobbed hysterically, thrashing against the massive guards. "No! Please! Cora! Tell them to stop! I'm your father!"

Cora stood perfectly still. The red mark on her cheek still burned, but the paralyzing fear she had carried her entire life was completely gone.

"You were never my father," Cora said, her voice steady and loud.

Rowan dragged the screaming, pathetic man out the front doors and threw him violently into the back of one of the black SUVs. The doors slammed shut. The engines roared, and within seconds, the cars sped away into the dark night.

The restaurant was completely silent once again.

Cora stood in the middle of the room, surrounded by piles of cash and jewelry left by the cowardly guests. She looked at Wesley, the quiet man from table 6, who had just completely dismantled the nightmare of her entire existence in less than five minutes.

Wesley turned to face her. The terrifying mafia boss persona seemed to melt away, leaving only a man looking at the woman he cared about.

"Are you hurt?" Wesley asked softly, stepping closer.

"No," Cora whispered, clutching his heavy suit jacket tightly around herself. "Thank you. I don't know how to repay you."

Wesley reached out gently. He didn't touch her face, but his hand hovered near the red mark on her cheek, his eyes filled with profound sorrow that he hadn't moved fast enough to stop the slap.

"You owe me nothing, Cora," Wesley said. "The debt has been paid."
