Chapter 8 - The Tarmac Welcome

The heavy commercial airplane hit the tarmac at JFK International Airport with a loud screech of tires.
In the back of the plane, Richard Vance was hyperventilating. His initial rage had burned out, violently replaced by a cold, desperate panic. He knew the emails had been sent, but his arrogant, billionaire mindset convinced him that he could still fix it. He just needed to get off the plane, call his legal team, and bribe the right judges to suppress the evidence.
"Get these ties off me," Richard demanded through gritted teeth as the plane taxied to the gate. "If you let me off first, I won't sue you."
The Air Marshal completely ignored him.
The seatbelt sign dinged off. The passengers stood up, retrieving their bags, but the captain's voice echoed over the intercom.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please remain in your seats and keep the aisles clear. We have law enforcement boarding the aircraft."
Richard smirked. He assumed it was the local airport police coming to take a simple assault statement. He could easily pay them off.
The front doors of the airplane opened.
But it wasn't the local police who stepped onto the plane.

It was six men and women in dark suits, wearing heavy tactical vests with three massive yellow letters printed on the back: FBI.
👉 Richard’s smug smile instantly vanished as the federal agents marched directly past first class and straight toward him.
